Save the oceans together - Get active now
Sharks are fascinating, beautiful, and incredibly polarizing animals. At the top of the food chain, they hold the ecological balance together and help maintain healthy fish populations and coral reefs. An absence of sharks is a sign of an imbalance in sensitive marine ecosystems. Every year, an estimated 100 million sharks are killed worldwide, many of them illegally and through brutal methods. The reproduction rate for a shark is slow, and many shark and ray species are on the International Union for Conservation of Nature's (IUCN) Red List and are considered critically endangered. Sharkproject therefore advocates for intact shark populations worldwide. Preserving shark populations around the world is interconnected with marine conservation and climate protection and is therefore vital for the survival of our planet and all of humanity. Without sharks, the sea dies; without the sea, man dies!
Sharkproject's ultimate goal and vision is intact shark populations worldwide. We want to achieve our vision through three missions—protection, education, and cooperation. Various projects, campaigns, and educational initiatives run under these guiding themes:
Protection |
Education |
Cooperation
